About love, in black and white

Maybe it’s just an opinion, maybe it’s just the shadow cast by a cloud, maybe it’s just a breeze through the mist, but there seems to be a tendency to demonetize and demonize love.

There is too much proud love to be seen on the silent walls of social media, too many oh-too-sweet-talks speckled in the world by people suffering from sentimental diabetes, too many ostentatious sentiments added like beads to virtual profiles that are virtually emotionless.

Oh, the love

There are too many coloured hearts in our gray world, too many declaration in our daily static noise, too many vows in an era that do not wants or knows how to keep a promise.

So, we have had enough, we do not have the time or inclination to believe in Price Charming and The One True Love.
Everything is another lie, another attempt at manipulation (what do you mean – is the princess not equal in her rights to be a Prince Charming?)? Everything is just child’s play.

But sometimes things are not like this. Not exactly like this…

People are both good and bad, not just bad or just good. And everybody thinks and loves more or a little less, or a little more limply, or a little more heroically.
Maybe, sometimes, people borrow a little from the ugliness surrounding them, but their souls remain, always, like the sky above us. And the sky cannot be judged by its clouds, by its storms or by its shades of gray. The sky has the gift to always clear, to always shine bright.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ― Lao Tzu

Even if sometimes our souls are whipped by rains, the sky is the one that defines us. So is love.

Whoever, in middle age, attempts to realize the wishes and hopes of his early youth, invariably deceives himself. Each ten years of a man’s life has its own fortunes, its own hopes, its own desires.
* Goethe
