Chinese Video – The Paper War

This short animated film from CUC Anima (Beijing) has been getting some buzz in the past weeks, after being re-posted on Dailymotion. It won the Best Short Microfilm Award at the 2013 Gold Koala Chinese Film Festival Award. It is the second year since the festival opened the Short Microfilm category in partnership with Youku, China’s equivalent of YouTube.

The paper stop-motion film made quite a mark, reviving stop-motion animation as the video made its way around the world. The plot revolves around two men who fight to win a very attractive (paper) woman. Watch the innovative and fun effects the clever and talented minds behind Paper War have released upon us, and keep an eye out for some major kung fu action as well:
